Privacy Policy

Mallard Club ("the App") is operated by Peter Moore and is a private waitlist and live-game management tool for members of a Toronto-based card room. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

Data we collect

  • Name (display name) — to identify you in waitlists, admin tools, and notifications.
  • Phone number — used as your identifier and for SMS one-time-code sign-in (delivered via Twilio).
  • Internal user identifier — a unique ID we assign on sign-up, linked to your account.
  • Push notification token — issued by Apple or Google, used to deliver in-app notifications (e.g. "your seat is ready").

How we use your data

All data is used solely to operate the App's features: maintaining waitlists, sending seat-ready and admin notifications, calculating Loyalty Points, and supporting in-club operations. We do not use any of this data for advertising, third-party marketing, analytics about user behaviour, profiling, or any form of cross-app tracking.

How we share your data

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. Limited data is shared with these service providers strictly to deliver the App's functionality:

  • Twilio — to send SMS one-time codes for sign-in.
  • Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver push notifications on iOS and Android.
  • Amazon Web Services — to host the application servers.

Data retention and deletion

Your account data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated personal data by emailing the address below. Some operational records (e.g. anonymized session totals) may be retained where required for the club's accounting.

Children's privacy

The App is intended for adult members of the card room and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the App.
